Zoe-perry
Perry was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). One of her first TV appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the character. She did not explore acting as a profession until after she had reached adulthood because her parents were afraid of the negative effects that stress could cause. Perry acknowledged that she was not comfortable acting in high school, but started acting to meet new people at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University, moved to New York in search of acting roles on television. She landed small parts in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness brought her back to California to find theater work. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway as a couple for the play The Other Place, in 2013. In the year 2015, she was alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, she played an recurring role in The ABC political thriller Scandal starring her father. Also, she was cast on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. She got the part by auditioning for an open role despite being connected to the role.
